No one can imagine the modern era heavyweight roster without the stalwart Tyson Fury. Ever since his return in 2018, he has rolled out tremendous performances and has thrilled boxing fans. In his third war with rival Deontay Wilder, Fury proved his case to millions of boxing enthusiasts.

Post this fight, ‘The Gypsy King’ also spoke about signing off from the sport many times. But, he’s also given an honest take on fighting his two most potent opponents, Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.

However, Fury recently gave a staggering take on his boxing future. In conversation with MTK Global, he said, “I’m not here to talk about me or even think about boxing this side of Christmas. I’ve had a fantastic career and, if I never box again, I’ll be happy. Whatever the future holds is a mystery – we don’t know yet.” (h/t Michael Benson)

In his last fight, Fury, the WBC heavyweight champ, defended a world title for the very first time in his career. He hammered the Alabama native and walked away with a huge win. Wilder ate some blistering shots from Fury, but he had his moments, too. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ dropped Fury twice in the fight.

However, his success was short-lived as Fury struck him with a mammoth right hand in round 11.

Ever since this win, countless fans drew comparisons between Fury and Usyk/Joshua. But, with the Brit’s above comments, it seems he isn’t interested in facing any of his top rivals ahead.

Besides titles, Fury may need to fight those two pugilists to cement an unquestionable legacy as the greatest. Given his comments, he feels he has done enough. He may have a point, as the longer he stays active, more and more names will emerge as must-fight opponents.
