Bruce Lee‘s “Boards Don’t Hit Back” probably remains the most memorable dialogue for all martial arts movie aficionados. With barely two days left for his tectonic bout against Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury weighed in about channeling his inner Bruce Lee to deal with a fighter whose hard-hitting skills have been honored by the Guinness Book of Records! The reigning WBC champion acknowledges Ngannou’s devastating blows.
However, ‘The Gypsy King’ argues that they are no match for the boxing prowess that’ll stun him. And what best example could he quote besides the one closer at home? Fury cited the case of his brother, Tommy Fury, and explained that mere power works only up to a point. Beyond that, discipline, experience, and proficiency come into play, which determines the outcome.

Showtime‘s Dev Sahni asked Tyson Fury whether Francis Ngannou stands a better chance of defeating him in comparison to what Conor McGregor could do during the momentous crossover bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The Mancunian replied that the Cameroonian-French fighter was likelier to knock him out due to the immense power of his fists. He seemed unsure what damage would occur if the former UFC Heavyweight champion’s punch connected.
However, connecting the dots, Fury explained how Ngannou is widely regarded as the hardest puncher. However, that happens only when he hits a pad or a bag. ‘The Gypsy King’ said, “…here’s the thing, right this man is supposed to be the hardest punter in history in the right when he hit a pad that didn’t move in front of him okay great, Tommy, my brother Tommy can hit as hard as any heavyweight that you’ll ever hit on the pads velocity very hard, but yet he can’t knock out KSI or Jake Paul because he doesn’t have the experience to set the punch up do you understand where I’m coming from?”
Clearly, much talk has gone into what would happen if Francis Ngannou could land ‘that punch,’ enough to put Fury to sleep.

The clinch master versus the hardest puncher
But it would do good to remember the trilogy fight between ‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘The Bronze Bomber.’ One of the former’s marquee techniques to neutralize Wilder’s sharp attacks was to clinch, using his enormous body weight to slow the opponent down. Even during the interview, Fury mentioned how no one else holds sway over the technique better than him. Mike Tyson has been tutoring Francis Ngannou for Saturday’s fight. Hopefully, the teacher has thoroughly schooled his pupil in the tried-and-true methods of the Heavyweight boxing champion.
