Deals, promotions, contracts. No, we are not talking about business. But yes, since that is what boxing offers these days, right? Battle of Britain: Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, the fight that never happened

After securing a win over Dillian Whyte on April 23rd at Wembley Stadium in London, the champion confirmed his retirement from the sport. But as fate would have it, the deal caved in. Joshua could not confirm by the deadline, September 26th. The infuriated champion refused to extend the deadline and decided to move on.

With Andy Ruiz and Deontay Wilder restricted to eliminators, Derek Chisora remained the only choice left for Fury. The Gypsy Kind and Del Boy War have met on two occasions, with the former ending as a consecutive winner.

Hence, the ground was open for all to question Fury’s decision. Why he picked a person against whom only little remains to be proven, instead of taking on a boxer of Joshua’s pedigree and caliber? Not to forget, both Chisora and Joshua are managed by the same promoter, Eddie Hearn, the Chairman of Matchroom Sport.

The Fallout

Resenting the barrage of questions, a visibly angry Fury slammed True Geordie, “No matter what you say, or what people like you want to say about Derek Chisora, he’s achieved more in boxing and in fighting than ten men like you could ever achieve.”

The fans yearn for an even contest, where the opposing camps’ skills, strength, and energy match. “You will never win an unfair competition since the reward is meaningless.” So do write back and let us know if The Gypsy King should have given one more chance to AJ.
