The hostility between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will see its crescendo tonight at the Kingdom Arena of Riyadh. Boxing fans have waited for this clash for longer than a year and the nature of it is slated to be lethal. However, one night before the event, Fury did something that might have confused fans. Was he showing Usyk a part of his elite status or was he showing respect?

His Excellency, Turki Alalshikh, the man behind tonight’s Ring of Fire card held a charity auction right before the weigh-ins last night in Riyadh. It was to commemorate the historic clash that he’s organized between the champions of the heavyweight division, Fury and Usyk. In it, the Ukrainian fighter’s signed replica shorts from the Murat Gassiev was also rooted. The 2018 fight saw him defeat the Armenian on points.

During the event, both Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk were present and the former dropped some major bucks to procure the replica shorts. As per boxing reporter, Michael Benson, he dropped $10,000 on them.

A Sight to Behold

It was reported earlier that the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has commissioned the Big Time Creative Shop, GEA’s creative arm to collaborate with luxury watch brand Jacob & Co to design a monumental watch that can be auctioned at the event.

The timepiece was auctioned by Sotheby’s and its proceeds were reported to go toward Make-A-Wish International. The organization grants wishes to children living with a critical illness. Their work extends to 50 countries and territories around the world through its network of 40 Affiliates. Both fighters were also given one of the watches as a keepsake.

The timepiece, namesake of the event, ‘Ring of Fire’, is a 50-mm rose gold watch. It is derived from the Astronomia Art collection. Visible from all angles, a figurine of each world heavyweight champion is featured on it. It measures less than one centimeter high and shows incredible detail. Furthermore, two more figurines represent their gloves. It is crafted so finely that their autograph can also be easily read.
