Tyson Fury foresees a knockout whenever he fights Oleksandr Usyk. He envisions the Ukrainian champion lying on the canvas, seven rounds into the fight. Can it turn into a reality? The British champion surely thinks so.

‘The Gyspsy King’ will battle it out against Usyk with all the heavyweight straps on the line. While their electrifying showdown is derailed for May in Saudi Arabia, the anticipation of the bout is reaching a zenith. Amid the speculations and doubts about Fury’s fading boxing prowess, the latter is confident of pulling another win, and that too, splendidly. What prompted him to make such a claim?

Fury, 35, sat down with Charlie Parsons and had a candid response when asked about his prediction for the upcoming fight. Not only did Usyk have a little experience at heavyweight, but he also hadn’t impressed Fury with his outings to the square circle. Fury said, “He’s only had two or three fights at heavyweight. And to be honest, I haven’t been that impressed with him.”

“He [Oleksandr Usyk] does what he’s got to do; he has got his wins, been paid. He gets the job done, and he goes home. So that’s what it is about,” Fury continued.

The Manchester Native believes Usyk, at 21-0, didn’t have what it takes to defeat him. “Is he good enough to beat the Gypsy King? I don’t think so, but good luck to him. If he is, I’ll shake his hand. If he is not, again, I roll on to another one… I’ll take him out inside seven rounds,” he added.

“Listen, I only take one fight at a time. I could get brain damage and die in the first Usyk fight, so you can’t walk past any fights. You know what I mean. Might get run over by a train, who knows by that time. But one fight at a time,” Fury admitted. He also didn’t rule out hanging up his gloves for good.

“You say how you feel afterward. If you are good and fit and ready and healthy and injury free then you go again. If not, call it quits,” Fury declared. While it is rumored that Usyk and Fury have a rematch clause, it’s not sure whether either of them will trigger it. It all depends on the beating they will receive and how closely they lose a fight.
