Tyson Fury, boxing’s biggest entertainer of this generation is selling his upcoming potential fight against Oleksandr Usyk by comparing it to the ‘fight of the century’ that took place between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in 1971. Officially, that was one of the first biggest sporting events of all time across all sports. There are a number of similarities between Ali vs Frazier and Fury vs Usyk. Why did Tyson Fury compare his potential bout with Ali vs Frazier event?
Back to the storyline, Ali vs Frazier was the undisputed heavyweight championship fight between two undefeated boxers. Frazier was a unified heavyweight champion with three titles WBC, WBA, and The Ring. Ali was the former undisputed champion. The bout had various similarities to Usyk and Fury.

Usyk is the unified heavyweight champion with WBO, WBA, IBF, and The Ring titles. Whereas Fury is a former two-time heavyweight champion and currently holds WBC heavyweight title.
Fury even considers this fight bigger than Ali vs Frazier
According to Fury, those fights of the 20th century took place in the three-belt era. Currently, the undisputed title consists of four belts. He said, “And now Tyson Fury versus Oleksandr Usyk for the first heavyweight four belt holder in history never been done before.” Moreover, ‘The Gypsy King’ was also willing to offer the undercard in the event to Jake Paul.
