Prolific boxing analyst and former reporter of the sport, Ricardo Jimenez, passed away on October 11 due to a stroke. The unfortunate incident has saddened the entire boxing community.

Jimenez has contributed for more than a decade in boxing and became a publicist with Bob Arum’s Top Rank promotion. Apart from that, Ricardo Jimenez also functioned as a press officer or translator in several events. Thus, he was a well-known personality amid hardcore boxing fans.

Being closely associated with so many events, he has seen the sport evolve over the years. While boxing fans always wanted to see his presence, the same won’t happen ever again.

Twitter mourns the death of Ricardo Jimenez

The 64-year-old was reportedly suffering from several heart complexities. Unfortunately, he took his last breath in Los Angeles, making umpteen elites of the sport mourn over the loss.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman turned to Twitter and expressed his grief. He wrote, “I am so sad to learn of the passing away of such a dear member of the boxing community, Ricardo Jimenez. May he Rest In Peace. Our condolences to his family and all his many friends who will dearly miss him.”

The official Twitter handle of Top Rank boxing also paid tribute to one of their own.

Senior journalist Lance Pugmire also expressed his shock on Twitter. Moreover, he credited Jimenez for putting so much effort into Top Rank. As per Pugmire, Jimenez has taken the boxing promotion at places where they could have never reached. Thus, it was truly a shocking loss for them.
