Unified lightweight queen Katie Taylor has once again proven her caliber as an elite by outpointing Miriam Gutierrez in their main-event headliner. The Irish powerhouse emerged with aggression from the very initial rounds and defended her titles in style.
Taylor was equally calculated with her tactics as she didn’t showcase any chinks in her armor. Moreover, she demanded the best of Gutierrez and seemingly prompted her to come up with some shots. Although the Spaniard had her moments in the clash, it wasn’t enough to bag the win.
Despite those sporadic bursts, it was a one-sided first career loss for Gutierrez who couldn’t offer much from her side. That said, Katie Taylor is still the undefeated unified world lightweight champion. She improved her professional record to 17-0. Her recent win has already garnered global attention, and many fans shared their thoughts on the lightweight fight.

Katie Taylor is NO JOKE inside the ring
While fans may have wanted to see a stoppage win from ‘The Bray Bomber’, Taylor unveiled a tactical showdown to retain her titles. She worked effectively on Gutierrez’s body throughout the fight and landed the bigger shots.
Her defense game was also on point. Going against an unbeaten A-lister like Gutierrez, Taylor didn’t let her infuse a lot of damage. Moreover, she successfully slipped away from the Spaniard’s best shots.
Meanwhile, several professionals have already reacted to the fight. Matchroom boxer. Ellie Scotney claimed that it was like watching Taylor in a fast forward mode.

MMA reporter Ariel Helwani also hailed Taylor as one of the finest. He also touted a cross-promotion boxing fight between her and Cris Cyborg.
A high-ranking MMA executive told me today that Cris Cyborg beats Katie Taylor in a boxing match. Seemed quite confident. I don’t agree. MMA? Obviously. Her hand speed and accuracy is incredible. Would be a tough go for any MMA fighter crossing over.

Reporter Sarah Shephard praised Gutierrez for showcasing the heart of a champion against one of the best.
Gutierrez is tough as. Not many would still be in there after the battering she’s taken. #TaylorGutierrez

Ramla Ali belittled Taylor’s achievement. He suggested the use of a “compubox” to showcase the exact number of shots she landed.
This is when you need compubox. There is no way the average human can see how many shots KT actually lands. I almost think it’s worth her slowing down just so we can actually watch it 🤣
