Floyd Mayweather Jr‘s confidence is something every person would like to have. And his confidence was bolstered by his flawless performances inside the boxing ring. And, when it came to unleashing his sarcastic side at press conferences for fights, he did not flinch. The 46-year-old knew how to keep the crowd intrigued with his words. And was never hesitant to give the fans a taste of his grandeur. One such display of this was when he fought British professional boxer, Ricky Hatton. Even though he went to his opponent’s home territory for a press conference, that did not stop him from being his true self.
A recent clip resurfaced on the internet showing Mayweather Jr unfazed by the crowd’s hostility at the press conference for the Ricky Hatton fight. And one notable thing which stood out for the Manchester crowd was the American’s confidence. It should be noted that even though the conference was held in Manchester, the fight took place in MGM Grand, Las Vegas. Mayweather Jr won via TKO in the tenth round.

SkySports Boxing shared the infamous clip of ‘Money Mayweather,’ showing his unabashed attitude to the people of Manchester. The clip shows Mayweather Jr showing up to the press conference wearing a Manchester United T-shirt. And standing alongside Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.

As soon as the press conference began, the animosity towards Mayweather was palpable. The crowd was chanting against him. And the 50-0 boxer could be seen swaying to the chorus of boos from the people of Manchester.
The interviewer then proceeded to welcome Floyd to the “lion’s den.” But, Mayweather had a rather unexpected response.
Mayweather Jr responded, “I am the lion, I am the king of the jungle. This is called Manchester Mayweather.” He further responded to the interviewer’s question about the rumors claiming that the American was supposedly not ready to face the Manchester crowd.

‘Pretty Boy Floyd’ said, “I ain’t scared of nothing. I love Manchester.” As he said this, Mayweather Jr went on to rest his leg on the nearby fence and strike a nonchalant pose.
