Shakur Stevenson has been long considered one of the greatest prospects in the sport of boxing, in recent times. As a former two-division world champion, Stevenson has awed both the boxing fraternity and fans with his skill set. And, in turn, also hyped them up for his future fights. He is all set to recreate this magic with a fight against Shuichiro Yoshino. Meanwhile, he was recently taunted by a user with a snippet from his old fight. Stevenson, on the other hand, had the perfect reply.

In a recent tweet, Stevenson gave a heartfelt statement about certain pains being permanent. This was when a Twitter user taunted him with a snippet from the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Notably, Stevenson faced Robeisy Ramirez for the Olympic finals.

What followed was a sensational clash between the southpaws. Even though Stevenson showcased an impressive performance. He ended up losing the gold to the highly skilled Cuban. Stevenson was overwhelmed by emotions after the loss. And went on to tearfully say, “I’m hurt. I felt like the Cuban won. Much respect to him. I just didn’t want to lose, so I’m hurt.”

However, the Twitter taunt took a rather pleasant turn. Stevenson mentioned that he was initially upset to watch the video. And, that he ended up turning his pain into passion.

Meanwhile, Stevenson’s emotional statements reminded many fans of a similar scenario involving boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather.
