Notably, Alakel turned into a phenomenal and asserting performance, and as a result, secured a unanimous decision win. The super featherweight fighter swept the judges’ scorecards, and all the judges scored 40-36 in his favor. This ensured Alakel left the arena with a 1-0 record and flashes of brilliance and confidence to build on to.

Alakel was all over his opponent in the four-round fight. Training under Joe Gallagher and sparring with the likes of Natasha Jones has helped Alakel hone his skills, which was visible throughout the fight. The Saudi Arabian fighter utilized his height and body dimensions to control the fight’s pace.

In addition, Alakel employed jab as his weapon of choice, as he layered his offense behind it and had his competitor running on the backfoot to fend off his attack. In sum, Alakel had a terrific debut and could improve further under Gallagher’s tutelage. The fans took to the comment section, as they heaped praise on the debutant.
