Some battles transcend the boundaries of the boxing ring, captivating the entire globe and heralding the promise of an epic night filled with the thunderous clash of fists. The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul bout is one of them, where youth will collide with experience! Travis Kelce, the tight end powerhouse for the Kansas City Chiefs, sounds like he’s all in on the action, as he dropped his prediction for the fight.
‘Iron’ Mike and ‘The Problem Child’ will go toe-to-toe on July 20 at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, home to the Dallas Cowboys. So, Dave Schmulenson or The Schmo reached Kansas city during the 2nd Annual Kelce Jam to get the Chiefs Superstar’s thoughts on the upcoming fight between the two generations.

Speaking to the Chiefs tight end, Schmulenson popped the million dollar question—who will win, Jake Paul or Mike Tyson? Having made up his mind, Kelce chose youth over experience, saying, “Taking the Cleveland kid even though Mike is golly, I feel silly saying that, but I’ll take Jake with the youth.”

When asked about whether the fight would end in a knockout, Kelce wasn’t sure whether the rules permitted the fighters to knock each other out. In fact, the fight is being sanctioned by The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations, which makes it a professional bout just like any other. However, it was originally supposed to be an exhibition which might have caused Kelce’s confusion.
Still, once Kelce found out they could knock each other out, he somewhat regretted picking Paul. He said, “Woo hoo hoo! I have never seen Mike get knocked out.” While Kelce has given his final verdict, siding with Paul, a young promoter might have other ideas.

Kelce isn’t alone in thinking a 58-year-old Tyson won’t be able to compete with 27-year-old Jake Paul, but former boxer now promoter Dmitry Salita doesn’t agree. Salita showed up in Ariel Helwani’s popular podcast The MMA Hour to share his intentions as a young promoter while giving his verdict on the upcoming showdown.
Promoter Dmitry Salita says Mike Tyson “deserves a victory run” 🥊
“Power is the last thing to go, man. If he lands one good on Jake Paul… Based on his fight with Roy Jones Jr., he’s good.”

“Hopefully [Mike Tyson is] healthy. I think that if he tries—power is the last thing to go, man. I think that if he lands one good one on Jake Paul, based on his fight with Roy Jones Jr., he’s good,” said Salita. Tyson fought Roy Jones Jr. in 2020 in an exhibition match and even though it was officially a draw, many thought Tyson won that fight.
With the fight still a distant event on the horizon, Kelce and the rest of the crew are buzzing with anticipation. They eagerly await the moment when the world will witness the answer to the burning question on everyone’s minds: Does Mike Tyson still possess his legendary prowess? And can he prevail against Jake Paul?
