Can Tyson Fury's intense Malta training camp lead him to reclaim victory against Usyk this December?

The Mike TysonJake Paul fight may be grabbing headlines for the moment. However, as far as boxing purists and diehards are concerned, real anticipation is building for the December 21 rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. Seven months after their epic duel at Riyadh’s Kingdom Arena, the two heavyweights will face off again for the unified championship.

Tyson Fury lost the last match by a split decision—a result he didn’t anticipate. Hence, he would like to set the records straight. Given the gravity of the task ahead, by and large, ‘The Gypsy King’ has mostly stayed out of the spotlight, focusing instead on rigorous preparation. With barely a month left for the fight, Fury and his team have camped on the scenic Mediterranean island of Malta. As he called out his fans, a string of comments flew, most of which wished him nothing but the best.

The Gypsy King is back. Training camp in Malta LET’S GO 🥊,” said Tyson Fury in his Instagram post. Appearing relaxed and smiling, the former WBC heavyweight champion shared that he has been having a fantastic time at the training camp. With a spirited Maltese phrase that resonated with his motivation, he exclaimed, “Ejja ħa mmoru!” which means, ‘Come on, let’s go’, in English.

According to a Malta-based digital media channel, Tyson Fury was speaking from Tigné Point. Heavyweight prospect Moses Ituma and WBC bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena also seem to have joined him at the training camp.

The Brit’s latest revelation follows an early dispatch that suggested that he had yet to start his training. Roughly a month ago, reports shared excerpts from an interview where he reportedly said, “I haven’t started training yet. I won’t go into camp for a good while. I think I’ve got 13 weeks today until my fight. So, I’ll probably start training in about six weeks for it.
