2022 will see some massive rematches. However, the one that has all the attention around it is the second fight between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. ‘The Cat’ dominated the Brit and claimed a UD win and the heavyweight straps in September 2021. Hence, ‘AJ’ is hungry for revenge.


As their fight is expected to go down in the first half of the year, Joshua, who is fully focused on getting his revenge, isn’t taking days off.

Recently, Tunde Ajayi, Anthony Yarde’s trainer, revealed what ‘AJ’ actually needs to do in order to beat Usyk. Talking to The Lowdown, he said, “Anthony Joshua needs to watch Lyndon Arthur vs Anthony Yarde. Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur two and do and use that as the blueprint. Go in there. Use all your physical attributes, your height, your reach, your power, your size, your presence, and just bust him up.”

In their first encounter, nothing went right for Joshua. Usyk exhibited his boxing brilliance until the last bell and was also on the verge of knocking ‘AJ’ out in the final round.

Anthony Joshua relied on his power in the first outing, and he paid the price. Hence, he will have to bring in a solid defense and some punching variations in this rematch.

To beat Usyk, Joshua will have to keep up with his movements. Furthermore, he’ll have to chase his Ukrainian foe down and not get hit from range as he tries to set up his power shot.

Joshua has terrific stamina and power, but he will need to let it come to the fore to end ‘The Cat’s reign.
