A comparison between Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez under the boxing benchmark is not even a legitimate aspect at this time. However, Paul’s constant banters at the P4P king have clearly raised several factors that put them in a similar bracket. Social media star turned pugilist, Paul, has envisioned himself facing Alvarez at some point.
He has even mocked the Mexican star in several interviews and has received nothing but criticism from Canelo. Well, Alvarez is currently the undisputed super-middleweight champion, hinting at a possible move up to the cruiserweight limit. So, Paul doesn’t fall on his combat radar at the moment. However, Jake Paul’s trainer J’Leon Love has put a lifeline to the potential fight and has also revealed one factor where Paul outshines Canelo Alvarez.

In a chat with FightHype.com, Love said, “It takes time, we are going to take it one fight at the time. At the end of the day, we are just fighting Tommy Fury now. We ain’t gonna fight Canelo [Alvarez] next. You know I mean, we just gonna keep it moving.”
On being asked about that one factor where Paul outworks Alvarez, Leon added, “Marketing, the kid [Jake Paul] is a genius at marketing. I mean, he knows how to stir up the pot, get eyeballs viewing. At the end of the day, you can’t hate him. That’s what the m**** f*** good at.”
It’s true, Jake Paul has managed to get under the skin of some of the biggest names in the combat. It has helped him bag multi-million dollar fights at the start of his career. So, he needs some credit in his name.

The current scenario doesn’t validate this matchup by any stretch of the imagination. 31-year-old Canelo Alvarez has done enough to cement his name in the history books and is advancing for more greatness in his career.
Furthermore, he is one of the biggest cash cows in the sport today. Hence, he doesn’t need Jake Paul to stage multi-million dollar fights. Besides, Paul will bring nothing to further his boxing legacy. All these facts curb the matchup to be happening from Alvarez’s end.
However, Paul is a skillful youngster who has bagged all of his desired fights so far. On continuing his unbeaten rise for a few more years, he can validate his reputation to challenge Alvarez. Hence, we may re-visit the debate in a few years, but as it stands, no fan shall consider the fight to happen now.
