Top Rank’s Bob Arum has big plans for rising Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue. The famous promoter who represents other global stars like Tyson Fury, Vasyl Lomachenko, Teofimo Lopez, and many other, hopes that Inoue follows suit.
The 27-year-old Japanese unified bantamweight champion feels that it is the next step in his career. In a sport where the heavyweights and power-punchers hog all the headlines, the undefeated champion is looking to make his mark.

Speaking to Lance Pugmire from the Athletic ahead of his first fight for under top rank, in the fight capital, Las Vegas, Inoue revealed his ambitions. He said, “In Las Vegas, it’s the heavyweights who get the most exposure and have the most appeal. So, I’d like to surprise those fans with my fighting style and technique. That’s what I most care about.”
This clearly shows his mindset. Despite being a unified champion, he is focused on achieving his other targets. One of which is to become a global star.

Arum is not wrong about his power, though. ‘The Monster’ as he is known, has 16 knockouts in 19 fights which speaks enough about his power. Inoue also has the opportunity to reaffirm this on October 31st against Jason Moloney and claim a seventeenth KO.
Top Rank and Bob Arum have been successful in creating global superstars of their fighters in the past. When you look at the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Vasyl Lomachenko, and others, it is clear to see that they can make Inoue a superstar.
