Boxers Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr. have been slapped with fines from the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoC) for their conduct during a press conference held prior to their January fight. The middleweights had a heated exchange, with Eubank Jr. making personal attacks on Smith’s private life. And Smith also made some very controversial statements directed at Eubank Jr. Notably, Smith won the fight after he knocked out Eubank Jr. in just 4 rounds.
Although an immediate rematch has not been confirmed, Eubank Jr. appears to be leaning in that direction. The BBBoC has directed both fighters to pay their fines within 30 days. In a statement, the BBBoC said that the misconduct charge was proven for both boxers after considering all facts placed before the stewards. However, it seems fans are not really happy with the statement as they went wild in the comments section. In a tweet by Michael Benson sharing the news regarding the fine, fans chose to share their responses.

It is noteworthy that Smith in a recent interview expressed regret over the comments he made towards Eubank Jr. during the press conference. He apologized for his actions and acknowledged that what was said should never have been said in any form of life, let alone at a boxing press conference. On the other hand, Eubank Jr is still in denial despite he faced a devastating KO against Smith.
