Keith Thurman is set to make a massive comeback against Tim Tszyu after two years outside the ring. And to build anticipation around his return, ‘One Time’ Thurman claimed ‘The Soul Taker’ Tszyu is a flat-footed boxer with Mexican style during a press conference for the fight. However, it has failed to intimidate the undefeated boxer!
The twelve-round fight between the Aussie and the American is set to unfold in T-Mobile Arena in Sin City on March 30. During the interview, the reporter brought up Thurman’s comment about Tszyu. So, the undefeated Aussie stated, “I’m not sure what he’s implying there. Maybe he thinks I’m easy to hit?” Whatever the case, Tszyu defended the style during the press conference, which Tszyu thinks made Thurman back out of his comment because “he knew he f***ed up.”
When probed further about the incident, Tsyzu detailed his thoughts about Thurman as a person. “The guy doesn’t think before he speaks. His build to fighting Manny Pacquiao in 2019 – exactly the same. He’s just a little yapper. And I’ve always found the bigger the dog, the less they bark. But Chihuahuas, they’re [going to] yap. It’s all for show,” said Tsyzu. However, he wasn’t done criticizing the former unified welterweight.
Tszyu claims Keith Thurman lacks the drive
After Tszyu basically called Thurman a ‘Chihuahua,’ the reporter inquired about Tszyu’s thoughts on why Thurman didn’t fight for the last two years. “Comfort, I think. I mean, where is his drive? These guys make a few bucks, get some attention, and everything changes. They aren’t as hungry anymore,” Tszyu suggested was the reason behind Thurman’s hiatus.

However, when Tszyu claimed he was the exact opposite of it, and it was not good for him, the reporter asked, “Why?” Tszyu stated, “(Laughs) Because you never switch off. I can’t go on holiday and relax. I just can’t…you can’t do any of these things because you’re always chasing that next goal. And that definitely has its own challenges,” said Tszyu.
