Tim Bradley Predicts a “Lot Tougher” Fight for Gervonta Davis Against Frank Martin

The odds for the Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin fight reveals ‘Tank’ is the heavy favorite going into the bout on June 15 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas. However, former world champion Tim Bradley has other ideas!

‘Tank’ Davis is coming off a year-long hiatus because of his hit-and-run case, but his comeback is being counted among the hits from PBC. Nonetheless, while speaking to Fight Hype today, the former world champion clarified that the fight won’t be as easy for Davis as many in the community think.

Given Davis’ track record, not a lot of people could argue against the odds for the fight, but Martin is no boxer to be scoffed at. Speaking about the fight, Bradley said, “I think it’s a lot tougher fight than what people think it is going to be. I think it’ll be tough early on, but then I think Gervonta is going to take over late in the fight”. 

Davis is known for coming alive in the later rounds, especially considering his fights against Ryan Garcia, Mario Barrios and Rolly Romero. Regardless, Bradley feels Davis has superb accuracy, and fantastic combinations, which makes his bag of tricks slightly better than Martin’s.

However, Bradley highlighted Martin’s athleticism, saying, “The speed, that athleticism, the quickness that Frank has, it’s going to offset a little bit of what Tank usually likes to do”. Nevertheless, Bradley sees an uppercut from Davis hurting Frank Martin in the later rounds, which could end the fight.

“I think [Tank] finishes [Martin], it’s going to be a late stoppage”, said Bradley. And interestingly, even Davis’ prediction for the upcoming fight is not very different!

On the contrary, even Martin is quite sure that Davis isn’t safe from knockouts. “Tank can end up getting knocked out. You know, he’s not exempt from getting knocked out. So, if he gets there, and he acts bad, he’s going to run into something”, said Frank in a presser.
