Gervonta Davis, the two-division world champion, is vicious both inside and outside the boxing ring. While he has been putting his opponents to sleep with deadly KOs, ‘Tank’ has similarly trashed haters on social media on his rise to stardom.

As he looks to grab Mario Barrios’ WBA 140 lbs title next, the 26-year-old recently came across an online troller. However, Gervonta Davis curbed the hater with a brutal comment that didn’t look very sensible. Yet, ‘Tank’ pulled the trigger from his end and ended the conversation.

Ahead of his fight this weekend, Davis tweeted out “3 days away” to promote the bout. However, an Internet user named Will sarcastically wrote, ‘Til What?’. In response, Gervonta Davis wrote, “Till I sleep w your mother.”

The tweet grabbed legitimate attention from the combat universe, putting Davis in the middle of the spotlight once again.

Gervonta Davis has been on a tear since becoming a professional boxer. The two-division titlist has scored 23 of his 24 wins via KO and is one of the biggest undefeated boxers on the active roster. However, his upcoming challenge would be against a legitimate contender that rightly challenges Davis’ resume. Furthermore, the recent social media banter cites how Davis would suffer online criticism if he fails to beat Barrios.

Akin to ‘Tank’, Mario Barrios is also an undefeated world champion. Besides holding a 26-0 record with 17 KOs, he would also relish a sheer physical advantage over Davis. ‘El Azteca’ is 5” taller than ‘Tank’ with a 4” reach advantage. Hence, he is clearly the bigger fighter. So, this evenly matched bout will give fair chances to both the contenders.

Despite falling short on physical attributes, ‘Tank’ can still land a big win. His last victory came against Leo Santa Cruz, who was also a bigger fighter than him. That said, Santa Cruz saw some early success in the fight. The Mexican boxer dominated the fight for a brief period, but fell prey to Gervonta Davis’ ruthless uppercut.

‘Tank’ closed the distance in round six and planted the shot that fed Santa Cruz to the mat. It was a highlight-reel knockout and Davis scored one of the best KOs of 2020 with that. Hence, ‘Tank’ is rightly enjoying his chances against Mario Barrios too. The pair will meet each other on June 26 at the State Farm Arena in Georgia, USA.
