In a major setback to British boxing, the World title eliminator at the light-heavyweight division between Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez has been postponed indefinitely. It was scheduled to take its course on the 21st of October at the O2 arena in London. However, now the fight remains shrouded in uncertainty owing to Azeez’s back injury.

While apologizing to his opponent for this impediment, Azeez said, “I am also extremely sorry to my opponent Joshua Buatsi, to my promoter, and to everyone involved who has worked so hard on this date.” With a new fight date still undecided, and the fate of the undefeated fighters still on the line, the internet is having a full-blown meltdown. Taking the heat is an injured, Dan Azeez.

Alternative fan theories: Why was the Joshua Buatsi vs. Dan Azeez fight postponed?

It was announced that the postponement was due to the untimely injury sustained by the 33-year-old fighter. Further, they have also let the world know that the new fight date would soon be announced, with the tickets for this fight being transferred to the new date. While the reasoning for the postponement seems to be genuine, the internet believes otherwise.

Along with much of the boxing realm, a fan remained confused.  They pondered about how a fighter who trained months at stretch for a bout could incur an injury right before the fight. They said, “How on earth do you get a back injury fight week.”

And then came the theories. One fan did not believe the injury was a reason that the fight was postponed. They attributed it to low ticket sales. Boxxer is the official promoter for the event, and the fan thinks if the fight fails to earn some good money, the company will collapse. They said, “Lack of ticket sales means boxxer would do there b*locks on this fight. Another show making a loss would finish them”

Another fan commented, “Tommy fury fit and ready step in.”

But yet a few fans still went off on the promotional company. A fan said, “Why is it postponed. Shambles of a promotion are boxxer. Sky need rid of these clowns asap.”

Then came MMA fans to make a comparison. They said, “Thanks God for UFC 294.” This edition of fights is underway right now, and is generating some serious buzz.
