The recent revelation about Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo has ignited new concerns for fans. The fight announcement came earlier this year in the summer. Charlo, the undisputed light middleweight champion, will make his return to the squared ring after more than a year. He has the golden opportunity to become the first-ever simultaneous dual-weight undisputed champion. Meanwhile, for Alvarez, a win over Charlo would solidify his legacy even further. Not to mention, this is his first fight under the PBC banner.

However, there is a substantial section of the boxing world that thinks the match-up is unfair given the weight disparity. Moreover, some fans have also criticized Alvarez for having Charlo move up two weight classes to face him. This was already a concern for many. However, since the recent announcement, there is another concern on the horizon for fans. It seems to be something concerning the judges and the referees that have been chosen for the fight. Distrust Over the Choice of Referees

A post was made by FIGHT.TV that revealed that Harvey Dock will serve as the referee. Meanwhile, the judging panel will consist of Max DeLuca, David Sutherland, and Steve Weisfeld. This revelation seems to be the point of contention for many. According to the critics, the judges have consistently favored Canelo over the years. Therefore, to them, this fight is not going to be much different. As soon as the announcement was made, a backlash erupted online over their pick. 

A fan claimed that it is a setup to have these judges and referees that may end up favoring the Mexican boxer. He stated, “Another fixed in favor of canela”

Along similar lines, another fan contended that there is a lack of interest and faith in this bout being sincere and is a setup to have Canelo get another win. He stated, “SHURE SHURE ! NO ONE BELIEVES ON THIS FIGHT, ANOTHER FIX FIGHT FOR CANELO”

On the contrary, one fan had nothing but kind words for Canelo and was sure that the champion would get the job done. He stated, “I wish you the best of luck,victory is yours,blessings”

However, one fan was under the impression that the judges were not competent enough to judge the bout. Reflecting upon the same, he jokingly stated, “3 Blind Folk sitting ringside”

Last but not least, one fan was far from satisfied with them as the judges of the bout and Dock as the referee. He went on to assert that they lacked merit to be designated for their tasks. He stated, “A WHOLE CIRCUS, EVERYTHING IS ALREADY SET FOR “”THE CINNAMON MAFIA WIN”
