Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn recently revealed that ‘AJ’ will be returning to boxing within a three-month window. Moreover, it was reported that former Continental champion Otto Wallin has been in talks with Hearn for a potential bout.
Boxing journalist Mike Benson revealed this on Twitter claiming Wallin and his promoter have contacted Joshua’s team about the same. Moreover, the fans were quick to jump on this news and they reacted to Joshua’s next potential opponent.
Fans react to Anthony Joshua’s rumored opponent
One fan expressed his disappointment, claiming that Hearn should not have left the Fury fight and hoped that Wallin isn’t the opponent.
After the stick @EddieHearn still gives Fury for this fight, let's hope it isn't him. https://t.co/IP55hqjMRu

Another fan asked whether Joshua would gain any kind of credibility after facing Wallin.
What credibility would he gain if he beats Wallin?

However, one fan stated that he would rather watch this fight than Tyson Fury vs Dereck Chisora, which is also been speculated.
One fan claimed that if Joshua faced Wallen, his fans would praise him for facing top-level opposition while not acknowledging Wallin.
If the fight happens AJ fans will be like “Look AJ is fighting top opposition!”. After calling Wallin a bum for the longest 😂

One fan claimed that big fights in boxing never get made. He added that this era is not the best in the heavyweight division where the best fighters are constantly ducking each other.
We often talk about how great this heavyweight era is and it really isn’t. Barely any of the best fight the best. So many ducking each other. It’s embarrassing this. https://t.co/Ft90n2FF4C

Lastly, one fan took shots at Joshua stating that he was fighting opponents that Fury has already beaten.

The fans seemingly had a mixed reaction to Joshua’s rumored opponent. While some fans think this will be a good matchup for the former champ, others feel that Wallen is not a suitable opponent for ‘AJ’.
Joshua and Wallin, Fury and Chisora. This is why everyone goes and watches UFC, besr don’t fight the best

One fan was clearly not a fan of this match-up and got the UFC into the mix.
Anthony Joshua gets two offers for a fight
Joshua has been offered two other fights for his return. The two top prospects are heavyweight contenders Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce. Many feel that Joyce will be the best matchup for Joshua following his impressive victory over Joseph Parker. Dubois, on the other hand, is the WBA regular champion, while Joyce is the WBO’s ‘interim’ champion.

However, Dubois might be the favorite to face AJ, as Joyce seemed to have other plans. In the post-fight interview, Joyce called out Oleksandr Usyk. Moreover, he is the mandatory challenger and if a fight with Fury does not pan out, Joyce could face ‘The Cat’.
