After his MD win against Maxi Hughes, the new IBO Lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. declared that he wanted to fight Vasyl Lomchenko next at 135. As Boxing Scene recently shared the same news, Shakur Stevenson reacted to it on Twitter. As per Stevenson, nobody wants to see Lomachenko stop George Kambosos Jr in the ring. Following Stevenson’s comment, Kambosos Jr. and the 26-year-old engaged in banter.

While Stevenson opined that nobody was interested in watching ‘Loma’ vs. ‘Ferocious’, the Australian boxer told Stevenson why he would never be an undisputed champion in boxing. However, Stevenson ultimately challenged Kambosos Jr to a fight. “I’ll put my whole purse up and u could put up 25% of yours,” he proposed.

After Stevenson’s comment on Kambosos Jr willing to fight Lomachenko next, ‘Ferocious’ asked Shakur to first accept Devin Haney‘s 75/25 split. Kambosos Jr., who has already fought Haney twice, even added, “What ya trying to do I already done“. To this, Stevenson replied by saying that Kambosos Jr. needed to rematch Maxi Hughes. In addition, he called ‘Ferocious’ the worst undisputed champion of all time.

However, George Kambosos Jr. jabbed back. He stated that only a handful of boxers have been on the undisputed list. “Too bad you will never be a part of that list because you won’t take 25% for the opportunity,” he added. In addition, he claimed that he would have fought Teofimo Lopez for free if there was a chance to become undisputed in the sport.

Soon, Stevenson alluded to the popular “deception” line by Kambosos Jr. After a hilarious reply from Shakur, the banter came to an end.

The above statement by Kambosos Jr. led Stevenson to allude to George’s popular “deception” line. In 2022, ahead of the first fight against Devin Haney, when Kambosos Jr. made the official weight in his second attempt after failing the first time, the Australian boxer claimed he had done it on purpose. He referred to The Art of War by Sun Tzu and said, “Art of War, baby. Deception. Let them believe that this was done. Everything is for a cause; everything is for a process.

Referring to that memorable statement by Kambosos Jr., Stevenson wrote, “Chill everybody this is the Art of deception he mentioning everyone else but don’t want no smoke with me.” In addition, he even challenged Kambosos Jr. to a potential fight. However, ‘Ferocious’ did not say anything in reply. Do you think Stevenson and Kambosos Jr. would fight?
