Soaring tension, hurled abuses, and flying woodwork—or at least the threat to slam a chair on Daniel Dubois‘ face. Every flavor was on offer when ‘Dynamite’ and Anthony Joshua faced off ahead of their bout. However, it didn’t last long, as security had to pull in, separating the two, and hinting at what might be on offer for the fans when they clash inside the ring on September 21. But fans enjoyed what they witnessed as they turned to the comment section to share their unsullied take on the face-off.

Joshua, 34, and Dubois, 26, will bring boxing back to Wembley Stadium after 2022, as they fight it out for the IBF title. While ‘AJ’ has the ardent desire to reclaim the IBF title, which he held twice before, Dubois wants to solidify his reputation as a top heavyweight boxer. And both boxers are ready to go for it, even outside the ring.

Both sat down on a table across from each other, with Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn also by their sides. Joshua, at 28-3, started the proceedings as he declared, “Honestly, speaking from the bottom of my heart, aside from belts and aside from it being him, I’m just ready to fight.” As soon as he got a “let’s go” from Dubois, at 21-2, two started throwing choice words, with Joshua warning not to “disrespect” him.

Dubois, the current IBF champion, also specified that Joshua couldn’t “intimidate” him. An angry Joshua then rose, saying, “Daniel, don’t disrespect me. Because I’ll throw this chair through your f*cking face.” The security had to step in to separate the two heavyweights by then. This clip soon made the rounds on the internet, as fans shared their candid take on it.

Fans mull over the altercation-staged or spillage of hostility

One fan lauded Dubois’ skills with mics, as the London native seemed to have learned the art of verbal exchange. They wrote, “Dubois learning more lines.”

Similarly, a user heaped praise on Dubois, as the champion pulled the strings and, with his comments, stirred up Joshua. They responded, “Dubois genuinely is so good. Got Joshua rattled.”

However, someone didn’t agree with how the fight was being promoted. In addition, they advised them to learn a thing or two from Dillion Danis, whose promotion tactics for the fight with Logan Paul had captured the fans’ imagination. They noted, “I know they want to sell the fight but this is shallow. Call up @dillondanis for guidance.”

A comment claimed that the heated exchange and both fighters coming close to trading off blows were “staged.” They based their comment on background noise, calling it “cut” after both boxers had done with their antics.

Likewise, a fan compared the viral clip to the WWE, as the professional wrestling promotion is famed for its storylines and wrestlers acting out their personas. They asserted, “nice WWE acting.”

Lastly, someone pointed out the demeanor of Hearn, who smiled and didn’t try to break off the fight. They noted, “Eddie Hearn has ZERO intention of separating the beef if it took off.”

It remains to be seen who comes on top when these two fighters put in a spectacle for the domestic fans.
