Besides, Caleb Plant vs. David Benavidez, the boxing world also witnessed a title defense match that was held in Manchester, UK. So, Lawrence Okolie successfully defended his WBO Cruiserweight title against David Light. This was Okolie’s third time when he has defended his title which he won in 2021 after securing a win over Krzysztof Glowacki. Well, before this fight, both fighters were the bearers of the proud zero-loss record but unfortunately, after the fight, Light was snatched off his flawless record at the hands of Okolie.
However, the fight proved to be more disappointing as the fans were leaving the AO arena before the bout was even finished. The video of many audience members leaving has surfaced on Twitter and fans have reacted to the video in agreement with the fans who were leaving.

Now during the fight, Okolie was throwing his opponent, David Light, off guard with a combo of heavy punches but he still had a point deducted from his scorecard for holding his opponent more than usual. He even stunned his opponents in the 10th and 11th rounds of the bout but wasn’t able to scoop out a KO in the fight.
But the fans got bored with the excessive holding and even talked about the bout in the Twitter comments section. Also, during the face-off of this card, the fans went fuming as one of the undercard boxers committed a “disgraceful” act.

Another Twitter user, NorthernSport10, suggested different ways to bring back the hype of Okolie in the boxing community.
Put okilie in with someone whose tests him he will beat them maybe he was a bit lazy thought it was an easy night I dunno but never right him off better nights to come think riakpore and @ChrisBillam would be a great fight

Dont blame em, I switched it off in the 2nd round after about 10 cuddles from Okolie 🤷🏻♂️ he will get absolutely battered if he moves up to HW

Now, Okolie will definitely have to win back his fans in the next fight, while simultaneously not getting discouraged by seeing people trying to leave the arena. As he’s still a fighter with a flawless record and the WBO Cruiserweight champion, nothing can change that.
