In Mt. Morris, Claressa Shields, widely recognized as the GWOAT organized her third annual Christmas giveaway at a local gym. A large crowd gathered around the venue, eagerly awaiting their turn to receive complimentary clothing, food, and health products. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet Santa Claus and select toys to bring home.

The Shields Community Outreach Program hosts various events throughout the year to support and assist those facing challenges in the community. As she posted pictures from the event, fans showered her with their support and encouragement.

Fans extend love and support as Claressa Shields helps the needy

Shields shared PFL’s X post on her account. While they mentioned that this was her 4th annual giveaway, she corrected them, saying it was her third. “My 3rd annual Christmas giveaway,” wrote Shields. Fans, however, were just happy to see the boxer spreading smiles during the festive season. “Great to see – sharing love at Christmas and making it consistent. As you put that smile on someone’s face, you shall keep smiling ….seasons greetings,” said one fan, expressing their love for the kind gesture that she is committing herself to.

“Happy Holidays Champ, you Family!!! Take care!!!” said another fan wishing her and her family a joyous holiday season.

“This is amazing what you do for the Kids!! Merry Christmas Claressa!!” encouraged another fan who was moved by the selfless act.

“Keep smiling!!!! It’s contagious!!!!” stated another fan, asking her to smile always.

“Looking fine,” commented another fan.

Why does Shields hold the giveaway every year?

On December 23rd of the previous year, at AT Fitness on 2189 Coldwater Road in Mt. Morris Township, Michigan, Shields organized her second annual Christmas giveaway. Families from the Flint region received various items during the event, and the middleweight champion not only utilized her own finances but also sought support from several Flint-based organizations. Collaborating with her boxing promoters, the PFL and Salita Promotions, Shields raised funds for the initiative.

The challenges she faced growing up motivated her to give to others. Her impoverished childhood fueled her empathy for those undergoing similar struggles, prompting her to establish the Shields Community Outreach Program. “It means a lot. I’m like a huge giver. When I was growing up for Christmas, a majority of the time, I never got what I wanted,” said Shields, citing her personal experiences as the motive behind her selfless act. Through this foundation, she aims to extend assistance to individuals and families in need.
