Santillan was delighted that Rocha was the one he fought. He has been looking for a fight like this and poured all his energy into putting up a good show. He believes either could have struck gold since Rocha is a tight fighter. “Yeah, you know, everybody had a 50-50 because Alexis is a very good fighter, you know, he stopped. And about him, I keep my head up. I think he’s got a bright future, you know,” said Santillan after destroying Rocha in the battle.
However, Santillan was positive that what he had been dreaming of, he had achieved through his dedication and will continue to do so. “But like I’ve been saying this whole time, this is my time, and I thought that this would be my night and we made that happen. I worked really hard for this. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for people to be able to see me on a stage like this,” said the young fighter. Santillan is confident and hopeful that from here on, his journey will be upward. Santillan also thanked the promoters, Top Rank, and Golden Boy for making the fight a reality.

Alexis Rocha explains why the bigger fighters would not entertain him
Calling himself a ‘high-risk, low reward’ threat, Rocha explained why the big names might not be willing to meet him inside the ring in an interview with Boxing Scene. According to Rocha, he hasn’t faced many well-known opponents yet. He is still establishing his presence in the boxing scene.
