Mike Tyson has had his fair share of experiences with the banking system, majorly because he once had a $400 million empire under his name. He even underwent the dread of being bankrupt and he knows how it feels to be in debt. So, in the recent episode of his podcast Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the boxing legend discussed the tyranny of the banks with Grant Cardone, and how their exploitation led to the birth of famous conmen and fraudsters.

Grant Cardone is the owner of a $4 billion company, Cardone Capital, which deals in the business of property investment. So, Cardone understands the way money works and how banks are actually one of the shrewdest workplaces in the world, according to him. Tyson agreed with this and even shared some knowledge about how the supposedly corrupt system of banking gave birth to some rebels in history.

In the podcast, Grant Cardone explained if anybody deposits $250,000 in the bank, it’s termed to be a liability in their books. However, they also lend out a $250,000 deposit ten times over, and that is termed to be an asset. After this explanation, Cardone goes on to talk about how the banking business is a bit scary. He said, “A bank is the most dangerous business in the world.

Mike Tyson agreed with this statement. He added, “It always has been known for that, that’s why Jesse James used to rob them. The banks are always known to take your property and they would kick your a** physically and take your property. No, really grab your son, put a gun in your son’s head, sign it over.” He then stated that, for this reason, people started rebelling against the institution. A couple of years ago, Tyson’s coach also talked about the robbers.

The co-host of the show, DJ Whoo Kid, listened to this and wondered whether robbing the banks was the norm back in the day. To this, Tyson told him, not necessarily as people were afraid to do so. He mentioned, “They’re afraid of those, I forgot that law, Pinkerton, they’re afraid of the Pinkerton but Jesse James and his crew, Butch Cassidy, they don’t give a f**k.”
