“They Put the Pistol Right There”: Devastating Jake Paul Trainer News Rocks Boxing World

Jake Paul commenced his professional boxing career at the start of 2020. In a short space of time, the YouTuber turned boxer secured 6 victories. The right training setup and guidance were crucial for “The Problem Child” to build a good boxing career. Due to this, he brought on BJ Flores, a former cruiserweight boxer. The former WBC title challenger has been coaching Paul since the Nate Robinson fight.

However, Flores found himself in an unfortunate and tragic incident on Friday. He was shot during a robbery attempt in Columbia. The news took the world of combat by surprise.

In a series of Instagram stories, BJ Flores revealed how the robbery went down.

In the video, posted by the boxing editor for talkSPORT Michael Benson, Flores can be seen narrating the horrific incident. He recounted the incident of how two armed men attempted to rob him at gunpoint.

Flores said, “They put the pistol right there. (pointing at his forehead) Crazy yeah, I don’t know what to say. Pistol is right there (points to forehead again), telling me to give my wallet and watch, everything. We were definitely targeted.”

Jake Paul’s coach revealed that the robbery took place while he was in the passenger seat of a car. He further detailed that the robbers couldn’t steal his watch and that he was thankful for being alive at this point.

Two armed motorcycle drivers attempted to rob him at gunpoint when the car he was traveling in was at a stop light.

However, the 44-year-old somehow escaped but not unharmed. As he was trying to flee, he got shot at, and a bullet pierced his leg. The former boxer will go into surgery to remove the bullet lodged in his thigh.

One user was shocked by the fact that Flores took to his Instagram to give details about the attempted robbery right before he  is about to be taken to surgery, @YA_SlN wrote: “The first thing I do when I get shot is making an Instagram story.”

Another Twitter user had to share his suggestion, @lukehancock3 wrote: “Yes you don’t get about them countries with Rolex on mate”

Fortunately, Flores did not suffer any life-threatening injury.

One might argue that he is the backbone of Paul’s camp as he plays a crucial role in coaching him. Paul is seemingly interested to get back against Tommy Fury and avenge his defeat.
