With just a week left for the highly-anticipated fight between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis to happen, the public consensus has been rather divided. A lot of people are siding with ‘Tank’ due to the sole reason of the last-moment rehydration clause. As Ryan Garcia is at a huge disadvantage because of the 10-pound rehydration clause. However, even this disadvantage does not seem to waver the opinion of the Boxing World Champion, Jermall Charlo regarding the fight.

No doubt the winner of the fight will be able to prove his mettle at the top of the division. It seems that Charlo had lost confidence in Gervonta Davis and believes that the less favorite Garcia will pull off a potential upset. He recently made a surprising announcement to his fans during an Instagram Live.

Jermall Charlo, who holds the title of Boxing Middleweight Champion, recently announced that he is placing a $10,000 wager on Ryan Garcia to win the 136-lb catchweight bout against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis on April 22nd. The highly anticipated fight will be broadcasted on Showtime PPV from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Charlo is confident that Garcia will emerge as the winner, despite having less experience than Davis. Although he is not predicting a knockout, Charlo believes that Garcia has what it takes to secure the victory. Recently, he also talked about the only way Garcia can knock out ‘Tank’. Although Davis has an impressive undefeated resume, he is yet to face top fighters in the 130, 135, and 140-pound weight classes. Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia also boasts an undefeated record with 19 of his 23 wins coming by way of knockout in his professional boxing career. Charlo’s decision to support Garcia showcases his belief in his boxing abilities. However, Tank’s promotion company has been very cautious whenever they chose ‘Tank’s’ opponents.

However, De La Hoya went too far by saying that the fight would be a gateway to save boxing, as it will attract a lot of new audiences.
