Who’s to blame for Devin Haney’s loss against Ryan Garcia? Most blame his lack of defense in evading Garcia’s lethal punches, but a section of the internet thinks it could also be because of the shoes he wore for the matchup.

While ‘KingRy’ came decked in his glittery white shorts, and diamond crown, his opponent, ‘The Dream’ came in a rather somber, and simple outfit, and a diamond-studded necklace that read, “Prime”. He wore a grey co-ord set from ‘Fear of God’, Essentials. To go with it, he wore shoes that matched the color scheme of the outfit. An X account posted a screengrab of the fight, in which his shoes are visible.
The Dream in Uggs?
In captions, the account wrote, “Y’all think those shoes fucked him up? Bruv was fighting in Uggs.” Those shoes did not look like traditional boxing shoes. Generally, boxing shoes are tighter around the ankle and are made of 90% thin and light nylon material. However, his boxing shoes did not look like they were made of nylon and were loose around the ankle.

While Haney was seen tripping in the ring on a few occasions throughout the fight, it is hard to know if the shoes were to blame for it. The one-of-a-kind shoes have gotten fans debating about his performance.

Another fan humorously noted that it was not the shoes that gave Haney his devastating defeat, it was KingRy’s might that showed Haney the face of loss.

Remember the time when Haney was found in Diddy’s pool party? Well, a fan cited their closeness to crack a joke. They suggested that the controversial rapper might have taken Haney’s boxing shoes before the fight.
