“They Gotta Stop This”: Boxing World Watches in Horror at the Undercard Arena as Martin Bakole Annihilates Carlos Takam Inside Round 4 at Fury vs. Ngannou

Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, the two heavyweights, are set to entertain the world in a matter of hours. Intriguingly, the undercards are taking place in a different venue. On the undercard, Martin Bakole went up against Carlos Takam for four rounds. Both boxers are massive heavyweights, to say the least. However, the match was anything but competitive.

It bears mention that there is a 12-year age gap between the two fighters. Not exactly an evenly-matched fight. During the match, a much older Takam tried to give the young Bakole a tough fight. He tried to hold on for as long as possible. But it was not enough for Takam to defend himself against the younger boxer.

In the fourth round, after a devastating series of body and headshots, the referee decided to put an end to the slaughter and Bakole won the match with a TKO. But the fans still had certain complaints. Many felt that it was a grave mismatch. They had quite a lot to say regarding the difference in size and age disparity between both.

Martin Bakole holds a ranking of No 2 in the WBA top 10 and deems ‘The Gypsy King’ as the only fighter who stands on the same level as him. This bout fetches Bakole, his 20th victory. The stoppage was brutal and it ended with Takam being defenseless.

However, fans did not hold back from making their thoughts known.

One fan thought Takam did not come prepared and was not up to the mark while Bakole looked significantly bigger.

Meanwhile, one fan acknowledged that Takam might be past his prime but was still stunned to see him get defeated in that fashion.

It seemed like boxing fans expected a more competitive match but the older pugilist couldn’t deliver.

On similar lines, one fan thought Takam was getting outclassed and they should have halted the fight earlier.

However, on the contrary, one fan was of the opinion that they should not have stopped the fight so early.

Another fan made their opinion on the stoppage known.
