“They Can Kill Us With That”: Infamous for Flipping off Interviewers, Mike Tyson Reveals the Dark Side of Being Famous

Mike Tyson doesn’t enjoy being talked down to or insulted, and there have been multiple times when Tyson lost his patience on live television during his interviews. Although Tyson is a sweetheart when it comes to socializing, as everybody in his circle adores him; however, he isn’t afraid to call people out who tries to belittle him. Nobody wants ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ to lose his patience, but regardless, some people do not understand what it means to anger ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. Then you get the same result as the airplane passenger who got a taste of his ferocious punches.

Even at that time, Tyson tried to keep his cool for a long time, but the man tried to harass the former boxer and even allegedly threw a bottle at him. Then the 56-year-old couldn’t keep his cool and answered back to the passenger. Now Tyson understands that these are the unwanted perks of being famous, and talked more about it on the recent episode of his podcast, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson speaks the negative traits of attaining fame

The co-host, Sebastian Day, asked Tyson and the guest of the show, Criss Angel, how they handle the fame and deal with people coming up to them all the time. Tyson replied that it’s something that needs to be learned through many “trials and errors“.

“Sometimes you are not in a good mood, and somebody bothers you, and you may say something that you normally wouldn’t say if you were in a good mood,” he added.

Mike then proceeded to explain that most people are unaware of what the celebrities are going through, and they try to film them without their permission.

Tyson stated, “This is what’s interesting with people like us because with guys like us putting a camera in our face is like putting a gun on somebody else’s face, they can kill us with that.”

Criss Angel nodded in agreement to Tyson’s words. He had faced similar kinds of problems where people can really get clingy without any signs of empathy towards celebrities.

Criss Angel told a personal story to Tyson

After Tyson used a gun analogy to describe fans’ intrusive behavior, Angel remember a personal incident to show the downside of being a celebrity. He revealed that it happened when his mother needed urgent heart surgery, and he was on the phone sobbing. He explained in the podcast that he wasn’t in a condition to cater to other people. That’s when people started coming up to him and asking for pictures.

Tyson understood Angel’s feelings and added, “Totally going savage mode, yeah.”
