“The Wax Figure Looks More Like Canelo Than Canelo Himself”: Weeks After Generating 14 Million Streams, “Face of Boxing” Canelo Alvarez Stuns Fans With Latest Instagram Post

On the 6th of May, Canelo Alvarez squared off against John Ryder in his hometown and defended his undisputed super middleweight status. Reportedly, 14 million Mexican fans watched the fight and rooted for Alvarez, who just wanted “to make history“. Ahead of the bout, Alvarez even declared that he would retire if Ryder beat him in the ring. In his opinion, he was at his best and eventually defeated Ryder via a unanimous decision.

However, before fighting Ryder, Alvarez reiterated his desire to face Dmitry Bivol in a rematch. He wanted to fight the Russian boxer at 175 lbs and demanded the “same terms, the same everything as the last fight“. However, given Alvarez’s performance against Ryder, Errol Spence Jr. warned Canelo and advised the same to maintain distance from Dmitry Bivol and Beterbiev. In this connection, while fans wondered about Alvarez’s next potential bout, the Mexican boxer shocked Instagram by posing with his wax figure that looked like his twin.

Canelo Alvarez recently visited the Museo de Cera, Guadalajara. At the said museum, the undisputed super middleweight champion met his wax figure that shocked his fans on Instagram. The wax figure of Canelo Alvarez sported white and black trunks and wore white boxing gloves. The countenance, the beard, and the physical structure of the figure greatly resembled Canelo.

One could hardly take his/her eyes off the figure. Obviously, Canelo was honored and praised the work on Instagram. “There are already two Canelos 😏Many thanks to @museodecera for this opportunity, excellent work from the whole team to create this figure,” the champion wrote.

Following Canelo’s post, several fans reacted to it. According to one user, the wax figure “looks more like Canelo, than Canelo himself 🔥“.

Likewise, another wrote, “Very good sculpture identical to the original, there are many wax sculptures that do not look like the model“.

In a similar tone, a fan said, “Who knew he had a twin“.

Meanwhile, a fan had a hard time distinguishing the actual Alvarez from the figure made of wax. As a result, they commented, “Alv which is which“.

Finally, one crowned Canelo with the title of the “Face of boxing“.
