Dynamite’ revealed that everyone he spoke to agreed that the shot was amazing. However, he praised Dillian Whyte’s showing in the early rounds.

Dubois said, “But Dillian was doing well, he was winning. He dropped him twice, but the Russian pulled back the clock. To do that in your 40s.”

Povetkin headed into the contest against a boxer 8 years his junior. His back was against the wall as Whyte hadn’t tasted defeat in a bout since losing to Anthony Joshua in 2015.

‘Dynamite’ continued, “He didn’t look too worn out, he looked fresh and was throwing sharp shots though. Shows these young boys got to step up.”

In what fans may see as an attempt to goad Whyte, Dubois said, I definitely wouldn’t have been caught by that, but it was still an impressive shot.”

Daniel Dubois lines up Dillian Whyte for his next fight

Earlier in the summer, ‘Dynamite’ eyed a fight against ‘The Body Snatcher.’ However, he will fight Ricardo Snijders and Joe Joyce in the coming months. Despite having two bouts lined up, he still wants to square off against the former WBC interim champion.

He said, “I think Dillian Whyte, and me is a better option as Povetkin is back in the mandatory for a world title. So I feel Dillian that’s the more logical and I want that fight to happen. Maybe after Joe so we go wait and see.”

The heavyweight division is picking up and Dubois can remain in the eyes of the elite by winning regularly. It will be tough for Whyte to ignore ‘Dynamite’ should the latter win his next two fights and head into 2021 with a 16-0 record.
