Tony Bellew knew his journey in boxing was over after the knockout loss to Oleksandr Usyk. But despite his loss, what endeared him to the crowd was what he said. However, five down the line, his word seems to be boomeranging, and he prepares himself to join a new reality show. The former WBC Cruiserweight champion would join the cast of ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
Even though he was a late joiner, he would be competing against other celebrities to win under severe conditions. Michael Benson tweeted early this morning, “Tony Bellew has now been officially announced as a late arrival contestant joining ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!‘ His presence is bound to tilt the popularity charts in the show’s favor. However, most of the followers sounded shocked, or rather pretended to be shocked, by the former boxer’s sudden move.

Scratches to the Summit
Starting his career in 2007, ‘Bomber’ won his first world title in 2016. His past attempts to become a light Heavyweight champion never bore fruit. Finally, he moved to the Cruiserweight division in 2014. After becoming a WBO international Cruiserweight champion, Bellew became a European champion on December 12, 2015. Six months later, he challenged Ilunga Makabu for the vacant WBC Cruiserweight belt. The Liverpool-born boxer then prevented BJ Flores, now Jake Paul‘s trainer, from taking it away during his first title defense. His moment of glory came when he defeated David Haye twice. But it was as far as he could go. His attempt to become an undisputed Cruiserweight champion ended in disaster as Usyk knocked him out in the eighth round.
