And there is no denying that former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has been integral to many of these iconic moments. Tyson’s raw performances inside the ring and his eccentric personality outside the ring even rightfully earned him the moniker, ‘The Baddest Man on The Planet’. One of his most infamous antics was when he bit off a part of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a fight. However, according to WWE Superstar The Iron Sheik, it is one of his favorite sports moments.

A Twitter page put out a question asking people to name that sports highlight, that they’d never grow tired of watching. This question caught Sheik’s eye. And he wasted no time in responding, “When the ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson eat the Evander Holyfield ear like it the last Dorito in the bag.” A lot of fans were also in agreement with Sheik’s words.
Mike Tyson does not regret biting Evander Holyfield’s ear
Tyson faced Evander Holyfield for their controversial rematch at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, on June 28, 1997. Moreover, the rightfully titled, ‘Bite Fight’ saw the WBA heavyweight title up for grabs. The third round saw a complete change of pace as Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear during a clinch. He even proceeded to spit out the bitten part of the ear onto the ring as horrified fans watched. Tyson was also fined USD 3 million after the incident.

Years down the line, it looks like Tyson does not regret his actions. He even spoke about the same during an episode of his Hotboxin’ podcast. Tyson said, “Listen, Imma tell you something really funny. Now, and I don’t mean it in a bad taste, that’s the best thing I ever did, biting his ear. Not from I wish I ever did, but from a business perspective. I had to be miserable first but now it’s all gravy.”
