The Ukrainian promoter spoke to Fred Talking Fighting on YouTube and shed light on the situation. He said, “In case Fury-Joyce [Joshua] goes to the second fight, they would have to vacate the title immediately. Or, to fight the champion, the interim champion. But this is just the paper. It has nothing to do with the reality.”

Krassyuk added, “Because the reality now is completely different. And you never know. The fight with Joyce may not take place very soon.”

Although this comment will raise a few eyebrows, the promoter explained why.

On the off-chance that the Fury-Joshua fight falls through, Krassyuk revealed that ‘AJ’ would have to honor his WBO mandatory obligation. Therefore, until they announce the undisputed heavyweight title fight, negotiations with Joyce will be on hold.

The comments from Alexander Krassyuk adds another dimension to the heavyweight division

The heavyweight division is easily one of boxing’s most exciting ones at the moment. With the two champions set to battle it out for the undisputed title, it appeared as though the challengers would have to face each other.

However, the comments from Krassyuk showed it would not be as straightforward as that. The Usyk-Joyce collision promised to be an exciting fight given the history between the two. However, much to the dismay of fans, that potential bout is temporarily on the back burner.

Moreover, his revelation that the winner of Fury-Joshua having to fight the WBO mandatory, before a rematch disrupts the schedule. ‘The Gypsy King’ has claimed he will only fight twice this year. Therefore, if he wins, Joshua will have to wait for his rematch.

Thus, things in the division are uncertain, and everything depends on when they announce the undisputed fight. Only then will fans know whether Joe Joyce will indeed face Oleksandr Usyk.
