The fight between Rolando Romero and Venezuelan professional boxer Ismael Barroso has proved to be a controversial one. And the fans have been urging the administration to speak up about the fight. The fight ended with a ninth-round stoppage. And, many fans believe that the stoppage was unnecessary.
ShowTime Sports president Stephen Espinoza has finally opened up on the controversies related to the fight. And despite his agreement with the fans, the boxing world is not settled, and wants better judgment for future boxing fights.
Many fans took to social media, urging Espinoza to speak up about the stoppage of the fight. And, it seems like, after continuous urging, the 53-year-old caved in. But, despite the expectations, Espinoza agreed with the fans and tweeted about the fight claiming it to be a “bad stoppage.”

And he did not tweet about it once. He did it twice as he responded to two different fans calling it a bad stoppage of the fight. Romero also went on to call out Ryan Garcia for a fight following his win.
I'll say it again.

After the fight, Romero was booed as he walked away from the ring. And many fans are taking to Twitter to show their disappointment regarding the fight.
Fans React to Espinoza’s Tweet
Espinoza also tweeted about fans blaming the network for the result of the fight. And giving examples to make the fans understand that the network had nothing to do with the fight results. And that’s something the judges are responsible for. One fan came in support of Espinoza, saying he can’t put an end to corruption.
So basically the corruption is out of his hands fellas

Another fan believes there has been a lot of ‘network blaming’ by the fans these days.
Way too much network blaming on here today and asking for an apology is absurd. I don't hear anything against PBC or TMT in which we all know, or at least assume, that they fix fights

One fan believes that Espinoza should not do more damage control and rather be better at his job.
Instead of always being busy w damage control, get better at your job.
You need to have better talents in your stable than Rolly – bottom line. Trying to sell Romero as world champion or world level fighter won't work, simply because people have eyes.
You step up or you lose.

Another fan believes that Espinoza has made himself visible for every fan to reach. And, that’s the reason he is being questioned.

Lastly, one user has a piece of advice for the Showtime president.
Valid point. Ill tell you what you can do though: never allow Weeks to ref another Showtime broacasted fight. DONT let him be a part of any fights your network shows in the future. I think thats reasonable.
