The highly anticipated rematch against a man regarded as boxing’s most dangerous puncher Fury picked him apart with each round gruelling than before.
The Bronze Bomber immediately activated the mandatory rematch clause setting the stage for a trilogy which could pave the way for a unification bout.
Now if Fury wins the trilogy fight and Joshua with Kubrat Pulev, a summit meeting between Fury and Joshua to unite all four titles will be the biggest showdown in sport’s history.
Frank Warren certainly believes so as he insists that Fury-Joshua fight is something everybody wants to see this year.
“Tyson vs Anthony Joshua in December remains what we’d ideally like to happen,” the promoter said to TalkSport.
“I hope by then things will have settled down.”
“That’s the fight everybody wants to see and the fight we all have to make,” Warren added.
Impact of Coronavirus
But some immediate concerns are looming if we are to identify the undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.
The disruption caused by coronavirus has affected drastically to the sporting world and now even boxing is feeling its tremors.
The events have been postponed or moved behind closed doors as recently Pulev revealed that his fight Joshua seems impossible before June.
“I think everything’s gonna go quiet for a couple of weeks and then we’ll see how the land lies,” Warren said.
“The coronavirus pandemic will derail everything.”
