Frank Warren believes Usyk wants big “paydays”

Frank Warren recently gave a telephonic interview to talkSPORT Boxing. In the interview, Warren revealed their team’s efforts to make the fight with Usyk happen. He claimed that Tyson is not the reason the negotiations fell out and also took a jibe at the ‘The Cat.’

The 71-year-old veteran promoter talked about the message Fury sent to Usyk a few weeks back, claiming to fight without any rematch clause for him. Warren reiterated his claim that the Ukrainian is interested in receiving big paydays from his fights. Thus, he is eyeing a bout in Saudi Arabia. However, it seems like Warren wasn’t thrilled by the verbal jabs which Usyk directed towards the British boxer. It must be noted that since the failure of the fight, Usyk has moved on.

Warren made it clear that Fury, being represented as the ‘greedy’ one among the two, should be stopped. “You go to Saudi Arabia because they are going to pay a lot of money and that’s what it is.” He also claimed that money is an incentive for the Ukrainian and so, he doesn’t intend on fighting with Fury in the UK.
