Has the marketing for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson gone too far with these bizarre inflatables?

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is turning out to be the year’s flavor. The fight has received all the traction since its announcement. Traditional fans want to experience a feeling of nostalgia associated with watching the former world champion fight live. But there is also a crop of new boxing fans who are venturing into sports because of ‘Problem Child’. Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions are doubling down on their marketing efforts to seize more eyeballs. But their latest marketing gig involved putting some giant inflatables.

Paul, 27, and Tyson, 58, will have a go at each other on November 15 at AT&T Stadium, Arlington. So, when the Texas State Fair hit the ground running and attracted some numbers, the visitors also found a big area reserved for two giant inflatables, which looked strikingly similar to the two fighters.

The Most Valuable Promotions turned to their Instagram handle and posted a couple of those two giant inflatables, which were modeled after Paul, at 10-1, and Tyson, at 50-6. They stood in boxing gear and a fighting stance, along with the promotional details on their shorts. The post’s caption read, “JAKE PAUL AND MIKE TYSON TAKE OVER THE TEXAS STATE FAIR!🤠 DALLAS, GET READY FOR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH!🥊”

Along with these, some merchandise for the event was also made available, as visible from the pictures. However, these two towering replicas of Paul and Tyson didn’t sit well with the fans. They then turned to the comment section and expressed their candid opinions about them.

One fan pointed out that he couldn’t make out whether one of the giant inflatables was of Paul. They declared, “If I just saw the face I wouldn’t think that is jake.” Paul’s inflatable had other details right, but the dimensions of the face appeared slightly different from Paul’s and failed to evoke a sense of familiarity.

A user claimed that, instead of Paul, it looked similar to UFC star Conor McGregor. They noted, “Bro look more like Conor Mc than himself.” The beard and the hairstyle with an elongated face gave it a touch of the Irishman’s iconic look, which every combat sports fan has associated with him.

Echoing the same sentiment, someone also strongly believed it was the former UFC champion’s face instead of Paul’s on the inflatable. They said, “That’s literally Conor McGregors face.” ‘Notorious’ gained popularity with his exploits both inside and outside the Octagon and has been one of the true global superstars of the sports industry, with an iconic walk and a distinct, well-kept beard and style.

A comment mocked the two inflatables’ kneecaps. The comment read, “The kneecaps are hilarious.” Both the fighters’ tattoos and body dimensions appeared correct but the kneecaps couldn’t be modeled right due to the issue of fitting in other parts and the practical reason of it being a joint.
