For the longest time, the crown prince of boxing, Floyd Mayweather, and his prodigy, Gervonta Davis, had one of the most heartwarming camaraderies in the sport. As a part of Mayweather Promotions, Davis was often considered Mayweather’s blue-eyed boy. However, over the last few months, fans and the boxing fraternity witnessed this bond gradually weakening. The same culminated in Davis leaving Mayweather Promotions in 2022. In fact, four-division world champion and Davis’ former training partner, Adrien Broner, previously knew that Davis will certainly leave Mayweather.

Broner is currently set to make a comeback after a hiatus of almost 2 years. And will be facing Ivan Redkach for a welterweight showdown. Meanwhile, he was in an Instagram Q and A with Sam Jones in 2020.
During the session, Broner gave insight into the Davis-Mayweather issue.
Adrien Broner felt that Floyd Mayweather wronged Gervonta Davis
At that time, Mayweather had begun training Devin Haney. And there were also a few videos showing Mayweather engaged in mitt sessions with Haney.
Broner, on the other hand, felt that Mayweather wronged Davis by training his rival. Talking about the issue, he did not mince words while saying, “One of the biggest names in the sport of boxing right now is Gervonta Davis. So why would you go train his rival? I don’t get that. That’s a bi*ch a*s thing to do. And if nobody feeling like that then f*ck them too. But I’m totally on Gervonta’s side. I’m siding with him.”
Broner also added that he believed that what Mayweather did was disrespectful to Davis. And even compared it to ‘spitting on his face’. He also predicted that it would even lead to issues between the duo.
Mayweather opened up about the allegations
‘TBE’ at the time also came clean on the allegations. And even addressed the same through public comments.

He said, “The thing I like about Devin Haney is that he is willing to do whatever it takes to be great. I encourage all young fighters to do the same.”
Mayweather also revealed that Haney had asked him for advice. And mentioned that he has been giving back to young boxers.
