Anthony Joshua proved himself yet again as he delivered a 7th-round KO win against the replacement of Dillian Whyte, Robert Helenius. At first, Joshua was scheduled to square off against Whyte, but due to his failed anti-doping results. Matchroom Boxing refused to let him fight against Joshua. So, as a replacement, they reached out to Helenius, who had just had a fight a weekend before against Mika Mielonen. However, Helenius accepted the challenge and became ready to go against Joshua.

As it turns out, according to the recent statement of Eddie Hearn‘s Matchroom Boxing, Helenius was tested a day before their bout, and his results, which came a bit late, have also shown “adverse analytical findings“. So they wrote, “Matchroom defers to the relevant regulatory authorities on next steps. We vehemently continue to support voluntary anti-doping testing. We are committed to promoting a clean and fair sport for all athletes.” Such a revelation has disturbed the fans to quite an extent.

Some fans were agitated by the whole situation. Nobody likes it when athletes try to find a different route other than hard work to achieve victory. Some of the fans tried to crack a light-hearted joke on the situation, indicating the repetition of such behavior.

One of the fans stated that the cheating didn’t even help Helenius. They said that he should ask for a refund wherever he got those banned substances from. They wrote, “He gotta get a refund coz that sh*t ain’t work“.

Another fan pointed out that everybody who fights in Matchroom gets tested and usually fails, except Anthony Joshua himself. They wrote, “Make it make sense. There’s a pattern here everyone gets tested except the golden boy of Matchroom“.

One fan couldn’t fathom how Matchroom didn’t get any information before the fight, when the testing took place on August 11. They wrote, “If tested on the 11th and the fight was the 12th – surely you should have had the results BEFORE the fight went ahead“.

An Instagram user stated that the quality of those performance-enhancing drugs must be quite bad, as Helenius couldn’t do anything throughout the fight. They wrote, “Well that was some s**tty PEDS cause he didn’t so sh*t before the KO“.

A fan expressed their frustration with the same kind of cycle being repeated, where a boxer gets tested negative. They say the same things as their predecessors and are let gone of by the authorities. They wrote, “Boxing is a joke. Let me guess, he’s a clean athlete, doesn’t know how it’s got in his system, will take time out to get the matters resolved, then come back to say he’s ate some dodgy eggs / tainted meat etc. Why are all the camps getting cycles wrong all of a sudden?
