Laila Ali, the former two-weight division world champion in women’s boxing, has always been in limelight throughout her life first for being the daughter of the greatest heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali and then for being the most popular female boxing icon of her time. She has often mentioned the pros and cons of the privilege she had. According to the 44-year-old, her childhood was full of ups and downs.

Unlike other fighters, Ali could not find interest in boxing in the early days. She says she never went into this sport because her father was a champion. It was her personal choice to pursue boxing. On the other hand, her father resisted Ali’s move. He used to consider boxing as a man’s sport.

In an interesting interview with the Breakfast Club, Ali revealed many famous incidents of her life. While talking about her career in sports, she stated she was into street fighting before turning professional and it ended up bad.

What had happened in street fighting that Laila Ali dubbed as ‘bad’?

According to Ali, she was into several bad things before turning into a professional boxer. It was so because her attitude was very different back then. She was fearless like her father.

“I was not afraid to get down in the dirt. You know what I’m saying and get back up that’s myself off so I got in a few fights and got transferred to a few schools and had a little bit of you know I was bad, yeah I was I like to say that was bad I ended up in the juvenile hall at one point Wow yeah I’m gonna juvenile hall three months”, Ali said.

As of now, Ali is a popular figure in both sports and entertainment. Her journey as a TV personality is very iconic. She participated in several reality shows and made quite an impression on the fans.
