WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney has been bashed by several boxing pundits and fans for failing to stop a 38-year-old Yuriorkis Gamboa in his recent title defense on Saturday. ‘The Dream’ has claimed a comfortable victory via unanimous decision. However, he has been ridiculed throughout for not putting much pressure on his opponent.
Coming off from a TKO loss against Gervonta Davis, Gamboa successfully went to the distance with Devin Haney and didn’t let the champion infuse much damage. That said, Gary Allen Russell Jr. is not impressed with the undefeated champion.

Russel has recently slammed Haney for his performance and has billed it to be ‘boring’. While Haney had put on a tactical showdown for the fans, it seems that not many are impressed with it. People were expecting him to unveil a KO, constantly measuring his performance with Gervonta Davis’s stoppage over Gamboa. No doubt, Haney has disappointed them to some extent.
Gary Allen Russell Jr. has some harsh words for Devin Haney

Criticizing Haney’s performance, Russel Jr, said, “Honestly, I ain’t watched that s***. I got about a million phone calls, though. I watched it (Haney vs Gamboa) yesterday, last night. However, Haney is unbothered about such statements. He appeared to be impressed with himself. At least that’s what his social media post suggests. The 21-year-old world champion is still undefeated, and in the process, he has validated some high-voltage matchups for himself in the future.
