Ahead of Ryan Garcia‘s fight against Oscar Duarte, Golden Boy Partner Bernard Hopkins stated he would decide Garcia’s future in the sport based on his performance against Duarte. According to Garcia, Hopkins doesn’t have the right to “decide” whether or not ‘KingRy’ would continue boxing.

Likewise, upset by Hopkins’ statement, Garcia declared that only his coach [Derrick James] and others who labored with him “day in and day out” could have a say about his career in the sport. In this context, following Garcia’s statement, Gervonta Davis has now fired his shots at both Ryan and Hopkins.

Gervonta Davis rubs salt in the wounds of Ryan Garcia and Bernard Hopkins

Amidst the ongoing beef between ‘KingRy’ and Hopkins, Davis referred to the time Bernard tried to touch ‘Tank’ at the weigh-in of Garcia vs. Davis. While ‘Tank’ was absolutely furious with Hopkins, his trainer Calvin Ford later claimed Hopkins was actually intent on applying some sort of “testosterone cream on Davis’ body to contaminate Gervonta’s drug sample and jeopardize his reputation as a professional boxer in the sport.

At this, while Garcia and Hopkins take their shots at one another, Davis sarcastically wrote, “That’s crazy Bhop almost got whooped for Ryan and boy don’t even f**k w him..old goofy.” Well, looks like Davis has a scene to enjoy, unfolding right in front of him.

Anyway, in this context, it is also worth mentioning that Hopkins recently declared he was not fond of kissing Garcia’s a** either.

Unapologetic Hopkins stands by his words

Although Garcia considers Hopkins unqualified to question the former’s abilities and future in pro boxing, Hopkins believes he has only spoken the truth. Likewise, he believes Garcia cannot expect to be treated like a champion given the fact ‘KingRy’ holds no belt. “We’re not in the business of kissing [a] fighter’s a**, telling them something that they’re not. Now I will promote a fight, but I will not promote a lie,” said Hopkins.
