Shawn ‘Showtime’ Porter is a name that is well-known in the ring. His skills on the mic are no less than his skills in the ring. The former world champion has never backed down from giving his concrete opinions and picks for matches. The two-time welterweight world champion even has a podcast where he breaks down fights for fans.

Following Devin Haney‘s recent triumph against Regis Prograis, Bill Haney, Devin’s father, issued a challenge to Gervonta Davis, as a possible future bout is in the making. While this hullabaloo is quickly turning into a game of hide and seek, an old clip of Porter speaking on the issue is going viral. In a resurfaced snippet from the ‘MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME’ podcast, Porter was asked about his pick between Haney and Davis in a potential fight. Porter, as always, had his picks ready.

Shawn Porter on why Devin Haney does not stand a chance against Gervonta Davis

On being asked to pick between Tank Davis and Devin Haney, Porter said it straight, “I pick Tank to win. I don’t think Devin has enough.” Porter applauded Haney on his speed, his in-and-outs, and other technicalities. However, he says, “You gotta take chances against Tank.” According to the former champion, Tank’s game is making sure his opponents take risks.

Further, Porter also mentioned Tank’s immense power, saying, “That boy got power that is..He has generational power.” Tank’s power is known by all those who have shared the ring with him. The hard-hitting fighter has broken punch machine records set by heavyweights such as Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

Shawn Porter’s pick between the two big names was backed by his opinions on both of the fighter’s abilities. This commentary came about at a time when the two were already beefing.
