It has been over a decade since Oscar De La Hoya retired from boxing and yet the 50-year-old is still evading a knockout. Well, ‘The Golden Boy’ of boxing and the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions did not again step inside the ring. However, the former unified welterweight champion recently saw a doctor who almost held him helpless.

While De La Hoya boxed in the ring, only twice he was knocked out. The first boxer to knock out De La Hoya was Bernard Hopkins as the duo struggled for the status of an undisputed champion in the welterweight division. After his loss against Manny Pacquiao via RTD, De La Hoya retired from boxing and thus drowned the prospect of getting knocked out. However, De La Hoya almost embraced a KO due to a medical procedure recently.
